Need to advices for gravity anomaly vfx

Hi there! need your help and tips. How to create some gravity anomaly? I just can’t to come up with, besides refraction of air distortion. I need to create vfx about 500 UE4 units without postprocess. Just particle systems.
The main reference is Quantum Break. But I need anomaly without explosion.

I’d suggest you to play with Vector Fields, Chromatic Aberration, maybe some particles “paused” in time and waving using some threedimensional sinewaves…

I just would like to clarify - maybe you have some solution how to make some particles “paused” in time. I have already thought about it, for example some glitch trail, wich just stay in air?

Definitely could use some floating debris, or slowly rising little rocks and things
