UE4 directional warp math

at about 1 minute into this video there’s a directional warp in substance designer, I thought it would be neat to try to figure out how to do this in unreal, but I can’t figure out the order to do the math.

anyone know how to recreate this?

You could use a noise texture to offset the UV channels of the target texture! It should give you a similar result :slight_smile:

yeah, I’m already doing that, the trick I’m trying to figure out is the sin/ cosine from scalar image to control the direction of the offset

nevermind! figured it out! only took 5 tries at guessing the order of things
