Maybe consider the angle of collision and shoot out with velocity?
I was thinking more of a fiery radial burst like you were already doing with your distortion bubble, but I do feel this also ties in the meteor nicely with the impact crater!
It’s all subjective, that was just my two cents - it’s a cool effect regardless!
