I’ve got a moment, so I’m leaving some notes on the core FX elements
For the main lightning beam, I’m using the Ribbon Beam Renderer.
Spawn Burst is around 7 to 10. The jagged effect comes from the Jitter Position module creating the signature “bzzzz” look.
Visually, the several lightning beam’s start and end points must remain fixed.
so to achieve this, I multiply the Jitter Amount by a Float Curve indexed by the Return Normalized Exec Index.

I’m really curious about your refraction. You used quite a lot of it and it’s very dynamic and has interesting shapes!
I set the DOF setting of several materials used for refraction to Before DOF
This makes refractions affect each other. The key point to watch out for in this method is that even slight refraction can have a strong impact, so adjustments must be made carefully.

So yeah, let’s get well earned frivolity out of the way; you killed it. This is great work. You should be very proud of yourself in what you accomplished. Do you have a demo reel? This should be on it. Clip of the final result, text letting folks know that all assets were made by you. Done. It’s very impressive.
