Our small, mighty, agile team of passionate game developers is seeking an enthusiastic VFX Artist for an unannounced video game title. This VFX artist will primarily focus on abilities and environment visual effects to enhance game characters.

This is a remote, temporary contract position

The ideal candidate seeks opportunities to elevate the game, embraces constructive feedback, and is proactive with communication and collaboration.

Demonstrable experience in creating high-quality VFX for character abilities in previously shipped game titles is a must
Unity experience is preferred
PC and mobile development experience preferred
Immediate availability preferred

Only applicants with an online portfolio will be considered for the contract.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional experience in VFX or a closely related discipline within the video game industry, with a significant focus on character abilities.
Expert-level knowledge of industry-standard VFX tools and an understanding of in-engine real-time particle systems and shaders.
Skilled in creating dynamic textures and materials using Unity Shader Graph, or written shaders/equivalent tools.
Strong understanding of how VFX enhance gameplay and the player's experience, with a specific interest in how character abilities can be visually and interactively engaging.
Highly self-directed with the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a collaborative development team, ensuring that VFX contributions elevate the game's design and narrative.
