I’m switching from Unity to UE5 and still wrapping my head around Niagara.
I’ve got this base effect working (see attached GIF/screenshot), but I want to make it spawn randomly within a specific area instead of just playing in one fixed spot.
In Unity, I’d usually use sub-emitters for this, but I’m not sure about the best approach in Niagara.
Could anyone point me in the right direction? Any node suggestions or tutorial links would be a huge help. Thanks!
Thanks so much for the screenshot and breakdown! This node-based approach is really clever—I hadn’t thought of doing it this way, and I’m definitely saving it for future use.
My actual goal right now, however, is to have multiple particle lines (or ribbons) spawning simultaneously within a specific area. I tried using Niagara Events to achieve this, but since they only run on the CPU, the performance cost is just too heavy for an actual game project, haha.
