Spyro : Sketch #12

Hello !


I’m so sorry for my late submission, I’ll really try to post more often and earlier for the next sketch.

So, here is my tornado ! I reworked and revamped an old shader that I used to make some realistic project at the beginning of the year. Here is the result ! :

Basically, the tornado is composed of simple meshes, & I used one shader that allows me to tweak several parameters and make things more “random”.


I tried to mix realistic & stylized textures, like a sharp dissolve and a glowing core.
In the process, I gave my noises some density by adding some kind of dithering to them :

I was really inspired by the storm in Life is Strange, it’s my main reference^^

@veer Hey thanks ! It’s mostly a sharp dissolve with some panning textures, vertex offset & UV distortion :stuck_out_tongue:
