Scale Sprite By Speed Causing Alpha issues

I have been having a very hard time trying to resolve this issue with Niagara and my alpha. Even though my texture has soft alpha fade off, I am getting these hard edges. I am not really clear on what is happening here, sorting, alpha UV issues, clipping…?
any help is appreciated !

i narrowed it down to the scale sprite by speed ‘max scale factor’
the image above is set to 2 /10

the larger the difference between x and y scale, the more pronounced the hard edge becomes… ?

turned out to be particle spherical normal in the material causing it.
