It’s been a week since I joined!
And so, I’ll be giving away all the VFX included in these tests. One effect per day.
Today’s effect is this “Fire Blocky” particle system.

The .unitypackage includes:
- The VFX prefab
- 5 Materials
- 7 Textures
- 2 Sound files and a mixer profile
- A “sound randomizer” script
- A custom shader excluding fog pass on some particles
- The Post Processing profile used in the project
To make it look like the one in the video, you’ll need to use Unity’s post processing feature with the profile attatched. To find out how, check this out, as there are plenty of tutorials out there. You’ll also need to change the colorspace to Linear instead of Gamma (not necessary but highly recommended), which can be found in Project Settings > Player > Other Settings > Rendering > Color Space.
You can reverse-engineer the effect or use it in your personal projects. You can also transform it, combine it or in essence, remix it to your own liking. But please, do not sell the effect on its own or use it in a commercial project. I’m sharing this without any monetary profit intended, just for learning purposes.
