MRvfx: Sketch #48

I’m going for more of an animated style effect.
I used Houdini to make meshes for the smoke, Substance Designer for the smoke textures, Photoshop for the fire textures, and Unreal to put the effect together.

The scene the effect is in is the Demonstration map in the “Stylized Desert Environment” from the Unreal Marketplace.

Any critiques and questions are welcome.

Here’s an update,

I wasn’t getting the animation feel I was going for with the sphere-ish meshes, so I replaced them with a smoke flipbook I threw together in Embergen, tweaked it a bit in photoshop and played with the shader in unreal to pump up the contrast and crisp up the edges.
