Industry standar external Realtime VFX editors

Hey everyone!

More recently my company has started working on older 3D game remasters and engines that don’t have their own VFX editors and particle systems like Unreal or Unity do. It would be troublesome to create our particle system from scratch, and probably take way more time than if we integrate existing tools.

In the past, we have mainly worked with PopcornFX as a tool in such situations, and I was wondering if other similar tools would provide a more modern/streamlined way of working in these situations.

I would love to hear about any such tools and insights.

Thank you!

If you’re looking for modern scriptable ones, popcorn is likely the only one.
Here in japan a lot of studios still use effekseer and bishamon, but I wouldn’t really call those modern.

Can’t think of anything else.

Thanks for the insight.

I was hoping that there are other options that I didn’t know about, which we could explore and compare the features of, but in this case it seems like we would stick with Popcorn.
