Ground explosion / Unreal Niagara


This is the first Niagara effect I’m happy enough with to publish online.
The biggest takeaway of this project is the importance of timing the different elements properly to create a believable blast effect.
I also learned a lot about Embergen, which I find incredibly fast.

The grenade VFX from Death Stranding was my main inspiration for the effect, although I wanted mine to fade quicker and to have darker smoke. The timing of this effect helped me a lot to achieve my result.
