Hello ! I’m glad to see a new monthly challenge ! I got some motivation back recently so it’s the perfect occasion to participate. I started to make a small concept to have an idea of what i’m gonna do.

That wind to bird transition looks so sick

Here is the first draft, i moved a bit from the concept to have a more physical aspect of the wind, i got a better idea of how the VFX should be and the colors i want to use. I tried to make a rigged mesh for the wings at the end, it doesn’t work like i want for now but it should work with better anim and texturing. I re-used some old noise textures and shader for the sphere to quickly test.

Hoy ! I added new textures and movements for the small birds, less detailed, it was too noisy, and with different mesh to add volume. Added some details in the main wind sphere and remade the wings animation ( i need to find a way to make it look more like a bird, it gives more of an angel vibes right now)

Hello, lots of small updates, there is now a little build up before the explosion because i thought it was missing, i’m finally happy with the movement of the wings at the end and their dissolve. And i added some effect with 2D animated textures, i’m really happy with the result ![]()
I have still a lot of tweaking to do but i think most of the effect is here. And of course if you have some feedback don’t hesitate to share them.

Last update on this VFX, i updated a lot of details and added an impact frame (it didn’t necessarily needed one but it was fun to do)

Actually curious about the wings. You modelled and animated them? They are really smooth
