HI there !!
I’ve decided to stop being shy! I took part in the “Dark and light” event and I’ve been hiding like a coward ever since!
I’m afraid of doing things the wrong way! Tell me if I should post somewhere else or if I’m off topic :o!
I’m going to post something I’ve been doing lately first, then as I go along I’ll post things I’m working on at the moment.
I’ve been a freelance VFX artist for almost 2 years now! (I wouldn’t say no to a permanent contract but freelancing suits me at the moment :D)

For the animation and painting im on Krita ! I can paint my 2d animations and quickly generate a spritesheet with a small script !
a vfx test for the impact on the ground or on a wall ! i don’t think it’s great ! maybe a bit soft like if something fell in the water ! but i like the style !

(Sorry I don’t post much but I like having a thread that I can maintain like this! tell me if it’s wrong )
Here’s the last smoke effect I did! Much more natural and cool in the rhythm! I’m going to touch up the bullet holes to make them look better!
and I’m working on a mini VFX for myself but I’m having a bit of trouble knowing where I’m going! initially the idea was a fire egg that explodes and deploys wings of fire. Some sort of Buff of rage or something.
(take a look at this MAGNIFICENT concept art! i’m michel ange! i know! (joke))

are the FX in blender also 2D FX? or are you using meshes in blender for that wing FX?
And those all FX look crazy awesome!!
the wings are just paint ! I drew them picture by picture on krita
ohh i see! did you export the flipbook from krita? i just got started with krita and did not knew it can export flipbooks!
I use this plugin! (small detail: you have to remove the Onion skin before exporting the spritesheet)
sorry for the late reply
