VATs vs Skeletal Meshes

Hey all!

I am in an early stage of an effect for a personal project and the effect is meant for a roguelike game so it will be on the screen a lot.

The effect will have a single animation of a levitating hand, I have the animation already done however before getting it in to Unreal I wanted to ask what would be better for performance/scalable a VAT of that animation or a skeletal mesh
