It all depends on the refractive index and the distance from the sphere (or rather the angle from the viewer to the surface), but a real glass sphere will absolutely flip the image from most distances.

That image is in fact doctored to flip the image in the glass sphere. You can tell this is the case if you look at the reflections on the left side of the sphere. The reflection of the hand is wrong, showing the thumb at the top and the fingers and the bottom.
