So I am wondering has anyone “recently” taking/subscribed to VFX apprentice and are able to share their thoughts? Specifically does VFX apprentice actually show you how to build the effect from scratch, step by step , emitter by emitter etc… OR is it more of “here is brief breakdown of how I made this explosion” (rather than "lets start from zero and build the explosion)?
I ask because I’ve gleamed that my learning style, how best I learn is “starting from zero” and not the breakdown or the “speed modeling” method. Then after doing it the tutorial video I would turn off the tutorial and redo it on my own, seeing if I can recreate what I learned, tweak it etc. Just the way my brain works, the way I process information when seeing something new/doing something new, I have to see it done from scratch, the process from the very beginning. I just can’t effectively learn via the speed modeling/breakdown type methodology and I am wondering if VFX apprentice teaches that way .
VFX apprentice is pricey at 183$ a month and I don’t want to spend that much to find out that all the videos are breakdown type videos as opposed to building from scratch, so if anyone is able to lend any insight it would be greatly, greatly appreciated.
