Oozie Burst: Slimy Eye-Sphere Explosion

I’ve noticed something fascinating, though: when you look at the work of seasoned VFX artists, the ideas tend to converge. Which makes sense—when you’re working professionally, you’re often tackling similar tasks that require similar techniques. Decades of honing the same tools and formulas, over and over again.

Visually, the technical aspect is flawless, no question about that. But this repetition, this cycle of similarity, puts a bit of a chokehold on creative innovation, doesn’t it? It’s like the same path is walked by many. A professional knows exactly what to do: what axis to move on, which attribute to tweak, what velocity to set, and which.

A newcomer, on the other hand, is like water—spilling out in all directions, sometimes breaking new ground, something that leaves you staring. I wanted to break away and show something fresh, something I hadn’t seen before. Sticky. Oozing. Eyeish👀
