Niagara Grid 2D Radial Art

Cam_02_Loop_GIFZ_small

I wanted to share another Niagara Grid project from something that I saw on Instagram.

The artist Andrewsgysin had done a piece that I thought would be a fun project to try and emulate in UE5. You can see more for this piece and his artwork here: ertdfgcvb (@andreasgysin) • Instagram photos and videos

The two major breakdowns are getting a 2D Radial for the Sin Wave to travel, and then using the Z columns to assign a remapped normalized value into an array, to set a subUV value from the material.

Don’t know if any of this is usefull, but just kinda cool to showcase.

Super cool! Incredibly valuable to show the power of grid and scratchpad, love it <3

What does your scales UVs by centre function do?

That just makes the material look like chromatic aberration on the texture by offsetting the UVs of the RGBs
