The thin wobbly lines are made with a mesh that has a stretched crystal noise that pans fast + a flipbook of drawn lines to break the shape. Both are spawned with a really short lifetime to give more thickness to the edge without having too much overdraw.

Thanks a lot for the insights! Wow, I’m impressed that this relatively simple flipbook does such a good job to make the line look wobbly. I often underestimate how much of the animation happens “in your head” Very nice technique!
