Finally getting some free time to attempt a sketch.
Here’s a rough first pass, just getting the animation and trails all set up in Unreal.

The movement already feels superb. Really love to see this one develop. 
Added some more color to the upward swipe, and a secondary trail with some dissolve
I don’t really have a plan of attack here lol, just adding elements here and there
