Imaskari: Sketch #40/2

Getting this in at the last possible moment

Set out to make this music visualizer based on the concept I had posted in the last contest segment. Lots of trial and error. I haven’t scripted in ages and had a pretty rocky start with it, but I managed to get the broad strokes in. The visualizer works for theoretically any music, but at the moment the shape morphing in the middle is just an animation track that I made roughly to the same BPM of the song. I would have preferred to make that dynamic, but I just ran out of time.

My biggest struggle with this project was Unity’s HDRP and stumbling over all the basic functions that I either assumed it had and didn’t, or Unity standard stuff that broke as a result of HDRP. It ended up not being strictly necessary for this project as I didn’t have time to get fancy with lighting or effects, and was honestly more trouble than it was worth.

I did end up learning a whole lot about line renderers.
