Hakk - Sketch #59: Dark

Hi all, this is my first post on this website. I am trying to make a sword coming out of a book. The sword then attacks the book itself by destroying it. (Still brainstorming on ideas)

Used a masked material for this and WPO for getting as if the sword is coming out from the book FX.

I got the sword model from sketchfab.

Also tried making some aura waves. For the meshes, I used Houdini for modeling. Made materials in unreal and tried to create some purple dark aura waves. Getting some material test ready first.

I dont know how this FX will turn out. But I am having fun with the process so far!!

Made some veins flowing through the book. Uses masked material on the veins model from maya.

Also made a shock wave kind material, it is still in process though

And a second type of shock wave, just trying out different simulations in Houdini and getting into unreal here.
