Latest Update:
No more time for more polish. I still would like to add:
- squash and stretch on the orange halves
- better specular highlights on the particles
- improved splash textures
- impact rays and distortion wave
- more interstring sword trail with wavery residue dissolving into air
- aftermath: juice running down the two halves
- [list continues…]
Still, it was a lot of fun making this, tried ClipStudioPaint for the splash textures and used pretty simple systems and shaders.

If you can try and do a mesh swap between a completely uncut orange to the cut one it would look super cool!
