Blender for simulating/animating moving textures on meshes

I have been following Shannon VFX tutorials lately and was fascinated by her workflow with Maya to simulate texture behavior on a mesh before trying to implement it in an engine. But Maya is a very expensive piece of software, so I wanted to see how I could do the same in Blender.

To make animations of the textures you will need to have the 2.81 nightly and the addon AnimALL.

You can drag the texture around to see behavior in 2.80, but AnimALL not supported.
