Second attempt to document my progress in VFX. I’ll do my best to achieve it this time !
I’m going for the cast of a big Fire Sphere to put in my folio on Unreal 5.6.
These are my main references, and this is the concept.
(but i’ll surely take some liberties with it.)

edit : The soft Particles nods are not linked because I learned that when you put you material in translucent it deforms the mesh badly… If anyone have a solution for that i’d like to hear it !

but in Unreal.
i’ll search for it tonight.

I added a depth fade for a cool intersection effect (sorry for the gif)

Kinda clunky I know… but it works !
I digged a lot for the decals effect that they have in Valorant… But I’m still searching for something concluding.
To replace, I added a little blocking texture for the flammes around the sphere.
Here is the texture, pretty simple for now.
